The "Terrible Twos"

I love the "terrible twos". Don't hate me. I think it is the adolescence of toddlerhood. Emotional highs and lows every ten seconds mixed with a desire to be extremely independent create some very interesting moments.

BUT, one thing that two year olds have going for them (besides their endearing cuteness) is their budding vocabulary. Isla says the funniest things. It is one of a few things that keeps me from crying on those horribly challenging days. Here are a few of the funny, random things she has said recently...

"You KIDDING me?!" This was said by my sweet girl as I slammed on the brakes at a yellow light. I realized I say something similar to this when someone cuts me off in traffic :} oops It was yet another good reminder that I have little ears listening even when I don't realize it.

"We don't say 'crap'." hahaha! This one had me cracking up. Our friend said this word within earshot of Isla and even though this particular word hadn't come up in discussion with Isla previously, but she obviously knew she wasn't supposed to say it.

"Veggie Tales, Veggie Tales...mockery, celery...gotta be Veggie Tales!" Isla's version of the Veggie tales theme song...almost there, but not quite ;)

And my personal favorite-Isla has a bath mat that has three Disney princesses on it. The other day we were asking her what the princesses' names are. According to Isla, their names are: "Belle" (correct), "Cindajuana" (Cinderella), and "Sleepy Dude" (Sleeping Beauty). I have no idea where she came up with their names. Silly, silly Isla.

My stylish Isla Belle

Kylie had her nine month check-up today. She is now 18 lbs 6 oz and 27 1/4" long, both are around the 35th percentile. She has been teething lately and is a bit crankier than normal, but still as cute as a bug :) She is so happy, even on her bad days. I am still amazed 9 months later at her content personality. I just love that my girls have such different personalities, and yet love each other so much. Kylie adores Isla and watches her all day. One of her favorite things to do is to army crawl into Isla's room to play with her toys :) Isla is a kind big sister and can't wait to play more with her little sis as she grows bigger.
